Alan Eustace, a senior VP for Google, has broken Felix Baumgartner's record for the highest parachute...jump? You can't really call it a jump, because rather than jump out of a futuristic, Red Bull fueled capsule, Eustace detached himself from a weather balloon using some sort of explosive bolt arrangement. He jumped fell from near the top of the stratosphere from an altitude of 135,890 feet. The previous record was set by Felix Baumgartner two years ago, after he fell jumped from a height of nearly 128,000 feet. Eustace also set new world records for vertical speed reached during freefall: 822 mph, causing a sonic boom in the process, and total freefall distance: 123,414 feet. His freefall lasted 4 minutes and 27 seconds. Eustace wore a specially designed spacesuit that kept him alive at that ridiculous altitude, and it took 2 hours and 7 minutes to reach his target altitude.

This is impressive and requires balls that I do not possess, but I still think Felix's jump was better since it was an actual jump.
